Hi all
Have a copy of the Purple Cover KH(S) Series workshop manual and in there it describes how to conduct an out of coircuit regulator test. Howver the key to the test appears to be a Yellow / Green wire which you connect a bulb / bulb holder across.

My regulator has the following coloured wires coming out of it:-

Brown

White - These 3 wires go into the 3 pin connector
Yellow
Pink

Black

Anyone know how to do this test and how you wire it up withthe bulb holder to test the regulator with the above coloured wires?

thanks

Mark

The resource site has the S series manual and the Triples Maintenance manual. The have bench test procedures for that regulator that are pretty simple, but not necessarily easy, depending on what you have on hand.

I usually suggest installing the regulator in question if possible, and running the engine. Measure the battery voltage at idle and when revving a little and see if it stays within spec.
