Hi everyone
i'm a french customer of a Kawasaki 500 H1d
Some folks say that the fully synthetic oil is bad for the cooling of 2 stroke air cooled engine under 7000 rpm.
Poor thermal conduction between cylinder and piston
Have you heard of that ?
sory, my english is bad

Your English is good... way better than my French. :)

I have never heard that synthetic oil is bad for cooling. I have also never used synthetic oil in my H2 since I got it in 1978. I don't like the price. :)

No... that is new to me. The only negative about full synthetic is that it can attract moisture. If bike is left sitting for long periods of time, like over winter, it cannot protect against rust in bearings.

I've been running Yamalube 2S semi-synthetic for over 20 years in my H2 and DT400 with no issues. It gets below freezing here in the winter and it does not clot. I remove the cylinders every couple of years and see nothing wrong and no rust. I run 2R in all my dirt bikes and again no issues. My experience.

Yanmaha semi-syn is good!
Best of both worlds.

Generic TC-W3 rated oil has worked very well in my H2 for the last 15 years. Before that I used mostly Kawasaki K1, but that's long gone from shelves.

You can always fog your engine for long term storage, a good idea for any injection oil situation, in less than ideal ambient storage conditions. I use mostly a blend of synth/dino however my H1B uses full synth but lives indoors, it has no moisture issues.

Hy everyone
Someone have an idéa about the right setting of the 500 H1D oil pump with modern 2 stroke oil like BelRay SL-2 ?
The orginals markings is for 5% oil in 1973 with the lubricants of the time...
Now, i thing that 2% oil is correct
What is your opinion ?
