I'm new here first post, just purchased a 74 H1 project bike. She's a beauty, but in boxes. Lots of powder coated parts. My question concerns the front brakes. I'm unable to get the loaded caliper installed on the rotor. I checked the rotor thickness and it's 7mm, which looks correct from what I've read. The caliper I'm assuming is correct and original, it's been powder coated and rebuilt. The piston is fully seated and flush with the casting. It also moves/floats freely on the pins. Looking for thoughts wrong pads or calipers? I recently retired, had my own auto repair shop 23 years and prior to that worked for dealerships starting in 1978. Currently have a few bikes my pride and joy is a 2000 ZRX. I appreciate any help. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the gap and have some smokin fun.

I would try another set of pads, maybe the ones installed by the previous owner are incorrect.
