Hi Guys,
The tab that holds the oil pump cable nipple in place, on the oil pump itself, has become very fragile and I feel as soon as I attach it again it will break off. Has anyone any ideas of how to repair it, or is there another way of holding the nipple in position? Cheers

I made a new tab and welded it on. And since I have 34mm carbs and the cable needs to travel farther, I welded it on farther over so the cable doesn't get bent sharply at the wide-open end.

Great fix Jim. I drilled a small hole and safety wired too.

We were never that neat. We'd simply remove the baile (wheel), and put a hacksaw groove into it, remount, and run the cable into the slot, bend the wheel to hold the cable.

Back then, the oil pumps were set ultra rich, and the only way to "back them off" was to move the end of the cable, the adjuster wouldn't get them leaned out enough.
