What are people using for a dial-indicator adaptor ....14mm, trying to hold the D.I. steady for initial timing set-up. Home made, or is there something commercially available??

I modified a spark plug base to screw into a head and hold a dial indicator.

Like this one you can get already made:

As I said, I made one from the base of a spark plug. I already had the dial indicator. The procedure was about like in Dale's link, but I put a set screw in the adapter so I could remove it and use the dial indicator in the lathe when I wanted to. I posted a photo from the web to show you what it looks like because I didn't want to take the time to find my adapter and get out my camera. :)

I found the photo with a Google Images search for "spark plug dial indicator".
