Bike sat for 10 days H2. The bike always takes 4 kicks to start. First 2 kicks were fine on the 3rd it was solid. I took out the left spark plug and it turned over fine. Put the plug back in and it turned over. It was a bit hard to start but once it was going it ran like crap and was leaking more gas then oil out the head pipe. I think if it was gas it cleaned out any old oil that was in the bottom. It didn’t run it long, but now I am worried I may have bent a rod. I tried to measure the distance with the depth rod on a caliber when the piston was at the bottom of the stroke and compared it to the right side. The numbers I got were not consistent So how can it tell if I have a bent rod.

A compression test should show low compression if the rod has much bend in it.

I checked the compression 130 on all 3 cylinders

If that cylinder is not lower than the others, you didn't bend its rod.

I ran the bike for 1/2 hour some oil ans smoke from the leaky head pipe, it seemed to lessen after a while. The suspect left cylinder smoke more the the others. I must have a leaky check valve?

Maybe a leaking check valve or maybe a leaking petcock and float valve. Usually a leaking check valve takes more than ten days to cause hydrolock, but I guess if it's leaking fast enough...

But you did say you saw gasoline coming out more than oil.

At first it was more gas maybe because it was flooded trying to start it. Then it was leaking oil. I guess it is unlikely I bend the rod.The petcock does not leak. I guess I will look at the check valve.

It might be a good idea to double check the petcock. Just pull the three lines off it when parked.

It has always been my way to pull the cylinder and look at the rod, parts, not just blindly hope all is well.

Yeah, that is a lot of work, but welding up cases and rebuilding cranks, re-sleeving damaged cylinders is a lot more cost and labor intensive.
