I'm moving along on assembling my KH500/H1 engine. I've gapped the rings but have a question on which goes on top. I'm using cruzinimage pistons. There are two rings - one is wider than the other. The thinner one uses a spring backing.

Which goes on top? Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with Cruzinimage products, but normally if there's a ring with an expander under it, it's not the top ring.

From one of their eBay descriptions: "Improved design on the expander ring 12 edged instead of 8 gives smoother back pressure on the 2nd ring."

It is an anti-slap ring to quell noise and skirt collapse.
