So I was thinking of buying a set of nice kz1000 fork for my H1 project, they have air adjusters and are a bit longer. BUT, the are 38mm vs 36mm and wont slide into place on my H1's clamps. Has anyone had a H1 clamp milled out to 38MM before? I though about the kz clamp but its way different. My clocks may not fit, and the spacing on the kz clamp is different, the center nut is positioned in between the forks almost dead center, were as the H1 forks are further out in front of the center nut. Any tips from someone who has done this mod before? I need advice before I buy forks I cant use lol! Thanks, Jeff

My friend M in SC machined 1 MM over to 37MM on the Phoenix Project to accept 37 MM 1994 EX500 Ninja forks to get the 17 inch front wheel. After that the EX500 front end was a bolt on.

Like Scully said. Through approximately 1979 KZ900 and KZ1000 fork tube diameters were 36mm. 1980's - 38mm.
