I have been struggling with fuel feed on My H2B for awhile now. I thought it might be the vacuum tap feed location, which I had to drill and fit a tube in the TM34 carbs. The bike would sag at high revs after a longer pull, and always on the freeway. It seemed to be better when I switched the fuel tap to Prime... maybe. So today I pulled the stock, new repro fuel cap apart to see how the tank breather works and flows. It has a little pressed circle in the inner cap seal plate, and a hole at the end of this pressing. The pressing leads to a hole in the gasket under it. But,the gasket hole barely aligns with the pressing ridge, and the punched hole that is the breather hole is barely as big as ONE main jet bore. OK, I know air will flow more freely than fuel, but this hole just isn't enough for a gravity fed fuel supply. So, I'm drilling it out, and making sure the gasket hole is bigger too. Will report back on findings from this.

It's good that you're fixing the restriction. I've had one of the gaskets swell and just about fill the circular groove too.

When the Phoenix Project was 1st assembled we had similar issues. We drilled a hole and brazed a nipple into the cap and made a vent like on a dirt bike. No more sucking the float bowls dry
