Clutch cable is adjusted properly. Still have bad drag. Fluid level in the middle between the two marks on dipstick. Drag is so bad I can not shift trans. Only can shift into first, get bike rolling and shift back to neutral. Can not shift to second. I can shift through all the gears with the engine off. Does anyone know of some one that works on these bikes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?

Have you checked the flatness of the steel plates? They can do things like get cupped.

Yes, and one was a little warped so I replaced the entire set with new. Checked each one prior to installation and it made no difference. Still dragging.

The clutch actuator is marginal for travel, and there are a lot of alternatives out there and all need to be adjusted to get max travel. Also, i have thicker hand grips that have limited my clutch lever travel some.

How many miles are on the new clutch? They do wear the fuzz off the plates and drag less with a few miles.

zero miles on new clutch. Can not shift the trans, too much clutch drag. I can shift into first at a stop, bike wants to move due to clutch drag. I take off and clutch performs normal engagement as the lever is released but after going through first gear, pull in clutch, I can not move shifter to second or to neutral. So I slow down, pull in clutch and then I can shift to neutral. The trans will shift through all five gears with the engine stopped.

Is the pressure plate properly indexed?

The arrow on the pressure plate is aligned with the dot on the drive hub, yes.

It's a fairly small "window" between too much drag and not enough grip. My bike is even sensitive to engine RPM..at 1500 idle, I can barely find neutral .. but 1100 or less it's fine.
