Hello,

Here a small review of some experiments I made in order to wuieten abit my triples (both equipped with Higgspeed chambers).

Basically I modified the stock baffle, building a prope "cone" in order to continue the reflector cone, and I reduced the preforated tube diameter from 32mm down to 25mm.

With this setup, both bikes were quieter than original higgs baffles, and I have to admit the power appeared a bit smoother.

I wanted to make them even quieter, so I added an internal stinger (still 25mm) and here some data.

H1 60mm internal stinger + 25mm preforated tube

H2 50mm internal stinger + 35mm preforated tube

On both bikes I added a "washer" in order to stop the direct gasflow into the stinger

On the H1D, I also asses an "helicoid" inside the preforated tube all the way to the internal stinger (it reduced further more the overall noise).

On the H2, I decided not to add any "helicoid", bcause I didnt want to restrict the flow too much, but I might make some experiments borrowing the helicoids from the H1.

Right now I have some "athena" packing, but I also ordered some "SILENT SPORT" paking from Germany (it appears to be good stuff... let's see it it helps too..).

In the pictures the H1d modified baffles for reference (the H2 are basically the same with the differences I mentiond with internal stinger/preforated tube lenght).

Hi Meloni, do you have any figures for comparison?

A phone sound meter app may not be too accurate but would be useful to measure the difference.

Hello Tony;

Unfortunately no data about it.... But I can tell you that it's way way quieter than the standard Higgspeed baffles (and both the H1 ad H2 feel smoother in the low end...).

Now they can be ridden without ear plugs and I think I finally solved most of the sound issued I had in the past (local police complained quite a lot..)
