I got bike running well again (over time) with a new CDI box and a low speed coil from Jim! My soldering ability is rough, and electrical knowledge MINimal. First starts after new coil proved I did not tuck lil wires in 'nuf. Redone, and bike starts and revs well. Before I go a few miles from home, just hoping to maximize my 'reliability'>>. Just thought 1 night to start bike in darkness, cover off, to see if I find any sparks or oddities. I can only see thru the gap between 'rotor' and main case. At idle and up to 3000rpm I saw nothing. About 3000+ I see a dull white light. Is there something in a 'normal' stator area that would show this? (no sparks nor sounds, just a faint 'light'). Thanks, Mark

Mark, the only thing I can think of that would produce a light in there is a loose connection that's arcing. If it were mine, I'd take the rotor off and look very carefully for something that's not connected properly, or a broken wire, etc..

THANKS Jim! that's Very possible, with the stiff lil wires, and my 'soldering'. When it warms up outside (just Now getting really cold) I will pull apart again, and inspect/tuck in more. Gracias!

Getting the connections properly soldered is important. If you doubt your abilities, get someone to show you how or help you do it. You don't need to be 75 miles from home and have it quit on you, or just as bad, be afraid to go anywhere on it.
