I have TM34s on my H2B, not the same carb, but find the new Mikunis come with a max height fuel level setting from the factory. Because of this and the forward mount angle on the H2, I had to lower the fuel levels quite a bit.

We found that almost every Mikuni carb on brand new bikes being assembled and set up right out of the crate, had excessively high liquid levels, as Mikuni just builds the carbs, they don't "finalize" them for the model in float heights.

There were even a couple of singles, F series and one other, that were so rich, not just from floats too high, but from the wrong slide cut away. F5A was one of them, FDM to cut the slide form a 2.5 to a full 3.5 on the slide cutaway.

Once the cars were right in adjustments to floats and balance, the engines usually became rocket ships.

We even got Tech Services and Service School instructors to get most of the techs to pull the carbs right in setup, set the float levels, so they didn't have issues later. We could tell the good dealerships from the ones that didn't pay attention, the good shops sold bikes that were ballistic missiles, the rest had ongoing "tuning issues" from excessive richness. Oil pump settings and relief valve pressures were another big deal, getting this stuff right made a serious difference in a slug, vs a runner.

What I was referring to on the cutaways was for stock carbs on stock engines, NOT 34's.

The best jetting specs for a stock to near stock H2 are the DENCO street 34's settings.

Ask Tony Nicosia, old time triples racer and Denvo owner. He hangs out on Facebook.
