No I got them warmed up with a propane torch and shot them. Rustoleum is pretty forgiving.

Didn't really heat them. Just warm them up. I got mine at Wal Mart. Heat 1st then paint while still warm.

Mine looks good still. The paint is about $8 a can so it is well worth the effort to see.

how long has been painted and used so far to look good as stated? just trying to gage how long before it needs it again,i ordered that paint , i will paint the header pipe area only and see what happens

That was done in Feb 2018 on an unseasonably warm day and still looks good. You can spend big bucks and have them coated and never have to touch them again. For me it's easier to spend $ 20 or $30 in materials and 1/2 a day prep time every 2 or 3 years.
