I was so happy that the petcock rebuild was going well and tested properly, until the next morning when there was a drop of gas on the bottom of it ... like one drop every couple hours ... and I just discovered the source ... the little bowl on the bottom was really corroded and in fact after a more thorough scraping/cleaning out some of the gunk I found that its actually got a hole in it ... I guess years of ethanol sitting in it may have been a factor.
At this point I am thinking of coating the inside of the bowl (after good cleaning and degreasing) with some quality 2 part epoxy (like gorilla epoxy). From what I see on a quick search consensus seems to be that it will resist fuel ok as long as I let it cure completely. Do any of you have experience or comments plugging a hole like this? Of course I could just source a non corroded bowl ... but the glue could hold over in the meantime ... ?

Something like JB Weld, done properly, will do the job. I have a few spares, but I'm in Australia and it's too hard to ship stuff these days. Someone will have one a bit closer.

JB weld will work fine and hold up for years. I have used for patching holes that big on a gas tank and I’m 4 years in with no problem. I’ve also used it to epoxy port 4 strokes intakes 20,000 miles and it’s still perfect.

JB weld works fine. And brush on some super glue after it sets, to seal the JB weld.
