another noob question: does carb synchronisation affect engine vibration and, if it does affect it, would it tend to increase high or low frequency shakes? I have an H1F and I'm assuming the rubber mount system is to reduce high frequency vibes?

Carb balance affects vibration at all speeds to some extent.
