Think ive got it sussed except one aspect.
The check valve that sit under the topout spring, should that be left as is?
Wouldnt it negate and effectively bypass the emulator? Ive had a look about and been on racetek site and the check valve is never mensioned.

Hi Steve, yes I am. They work great if everything around them is up to scratch....
There’s other improvements I think I can make in there.
Getting rid of the drum on my race bike and putting stock discs on, with stock forks with brembo f08 calipers.
See how that goes!

Yep might help, thanks. You like your drawings don’t you. Did some rough calcs myself and came too a conclusion that the biggest restriction in the system is the rebound check valve. Flow potential is about half all other orifaces including emulator. Although flow here isn’t quite as high, could cause cavitation or not. Or could be the restriction or not. I will modify it to double flow.
Noticed you enlarged and added another bleed hole in the emulator. Was this done because of calculations or was it done because low speed fork movement was to slow?

I used the mikes XS650 emulators on my H2B. I found the low speed bump was too slow or stiff, and it felt like the valves were going into high speed, popping off too soon, so I drilled the original holes to .067", and that seemed to be good. I didn't drill an additional hole. Also increased the preload to 2.5 turns. So really I moved the low speed softer and stiffened the high speed.

You say original holes as in two? My mikes xs emulator only has one hole
One or two? Cheers

Sorry, did not drill an additional hole, just drilled the hole each one had to .067".

Mine came with one .055" by-pass or the very low speed dampening hole.

As was mentioned, it was too stiff for myself also.

Added 2nd hole and both about 10% bigger. Much better but still a tad harsh. Fine tune with 10w oil maybe.

I also found the jounce spring way too stiff so I procured some additional springs to try.

UPDATE: 25sep19

I just revised the imposter emulator from Mike's.

It came with a 40lb/in jounce spring and at even 1 turn preload, was too stiff/harsh.
So I ordered some 19lbs and 9 lbs/in springs from Mc Master and just did the 9lbs in the right fork as a trial.

Wow! at 4 turns preload, it was near perfect in jounce.
Doing ditto on the left side may be a bit over-board on the hi impact/lo travel harshness so I tried 7w oil right side only.

The jounce was perfect. So, maybe both emul mods on left and right will balance jounce and rebound.

BTW as the instructions say final tune rebound with oil weight.
