You may remove the heat barrier fibre glass "gasket". Then, the carbs come closer to bore, and you should keep clear of the neutral switch by a "tenth of an mm"

Ok, wondering what the trick is to getting a 34mm carb in the center. Looks like I have to shave down one knob off the bottom of the bowl on the right side but the neutral switch is making contact as well. Is the proper procedure to just take it out and not worry about the neutral light or is there another fix? Using the stock intake manifolds. Mikuni 34mm carbs. |

I had to file off some of the protrusions on mine to get them to fit without hitting. |

Option is to use old type bowls/floats. On the 34's the pilot jet chimney needs to be carrot cut back to clear inside of bowl. Also the float hinge towers may need trimming. cliff |

The fiber gasket you are talking about is the manifold to cylinder intake one I take it. I want to keep the bowls that are on the carbs since the carbs are new. Thanks for the inputs! What about the option of ditching the neutral switch? |

Sorry for the question, but this whole thread seems ambiguous, guessing this is about fitting VM34 Mikunis to an H2? I am fitting TM34s, so was wondering, have not got to the point of fitting them to the cylinders yet. The TM seems to be thinner, so might clear stuff? |

It really varies with the 34 rounds. Some fit, same need a bit of clearancing, some need a lot. I removed the neutral switch, it's really un necessary anyway. TM's might be different. |

I ran TM 34's for years, no issue with the neutral switch. Had to grind some material off of the left side float bowl drain plug to clear the case. TM's are thinner but they are also taller, float bowl is deeper than a VM probably because its narrower. |
