Pulling the clutch because its slipping. Pics to follow The old friction plate(left) is on what looks like phenolic and is thinner than the new friction plate(right). That could be why the clutch is slipping, maybe? |

Where did you get the new corks? Are the old ones just worn thin or on a thinner plate as you said the base looks thinner? A nominal thickness difference may not be a big deal, as long as the throw is long enough from the pusher, to separate them well. You will likely get several opinions on what gear oil or ATF to run in the case. That can make a difference on slipping clutches too. New corks, sand down the metals well to clean them up. If using new springs, be sure they fit in the wells OK. Some have had to open the holes a bit for heavier springs as they can bind when compressed and then they are slow to expand. just some stuff to watch, I'm going to be adding my new Barnett corks soon yself. Ebc clutch. I use 90w in the transmission. Springs are good. Adjustment is correct. Clutch is in. I had to file each side of the outer tabs on the friction plates to get them to slide onto the basket. Now its like the clutch is pulled in. I can't turn the crank with the kickstarter or putting in gear and pushing bike. Maybe I didn't file the tabs enough? I'm done with this problem for today. I will try again next weekend. GRRRRR! |

The pressure plate will fit many ways, but there is only one way that is correct. I don't know where to find the picture though. |

Since the friction plates are close to the same size some of the early enduro bike's are, save a couple of things, those in aftermarket manufacturer places sub in the enduro parts, and trouble occurs. Check as others have indicated on the clutch pressure plate, then redo the release and cable adjustments, they don't sound correct, 90 wgt gear oil is just fine. |
