It's been forever, but I believe the H2 pistons do have the helper spring ring under the second ring.

This is probably covered in another post, but I can't seem to find it. I am trying to determine which of my stock h2 piston rings goes on top. My manual says that the top ring is 'easy to identify because it has chamfered edges and a chromed outer surface'. I call BS, can't tell at all. I have one ring with a couple of markings on the top side of it, the other ring is blank. Any thoughts? |

It looks like the bottom ring is the same thickness as the top ring, but the 'width' of the ring is smaller, to accommodate the backup spring. |

There should be no backup spring, as in a 4 stroke oil ring? Not sure on H2 rings, often there is a dot on the top of the top ring. |
