I've had pipes off early H1s MANY times, but was surprised when, wanting to soak (clear the insides of) my oily KH400 pipes, that the 'flange' seems permanently installed on the one piece '77KH400 muffler/pipes. Tell me what simple thing I overlooked, knowing that someone must have busted one and needed to source and install a replacement before!?

The flanges on my KH400 pipes also seemed to be permanently installed.

Like Suzuki GT's, are they threaded on the pipe?

Maybe that's why they appear 'beefier' than the early H1"s I referred to. Wow, break a 'flange', source a 'new' pipe assembly!?

Did you break it beyond the repair ability of a skilled welder?

He didn't break one, was just wondering. And yes, a whole new pipe.
