H2B oil line woes

Post subject:  H2B oil line woes
I'm nearing the end of my basket case project and have discovered at least one check valve on the oil lines feeding the crankcase oil is not functioning properly.

Looking at my [disassembled] H1 motor, I noticed it has serviceable check valves as the late H2 does not. Seems like a step backward to me.

What would it take to modify the oil line to accept the servicable check valve, if one is even available? A forum member mentioned that it has been done.

I think I read somewhere on this or another triples forum that a heat gun can be used to warm the plastic up just enough to slide the banjo out.

If you get in touch with Jim Shreeve (Darth) on the KTOG forum, he should be able to give you some direction. He knows these check valves inside and out. He used to rebuild them but I'm not sure if he still provides this service.

Hey Charlie....I spoke with Jim concerning my oil pump a couple weeks ago, he provided some good info on rebuilding it.

I posted this same info on his oil line thread over there a few days ago but there has been no response.

I do not think he is making the oil lines presently. I saw a pic of a custom truck with a blower that he purchased, I think he is busy with that.

It's been done. Here is one that someone converted/repaired, the coupler was made out of aluminum, tapped for the serviceable check valves. Drilled hole on the other end for the line. Used some special aluminum glue.

There is material to make new hoses, here's an idea, use push type air fittings, inline nrv's are also available your side of the pond, snowmobile spares I believe.

Page 6 of my H2B world traveler rebuild shows what I did, my oil line had all dead check valves. My system works great and is serviceable.
