I have had connectors corrode enough over 3 months to lose spark.

Although I've never seen that here, I can tell you that the CDI units I build have thyristors (SCRs) rated at 800 volts, so this won't happen with them.

I've had it happen several times - the genuine items (from memory) are 440 Volts . . . a surge soon kills them
