Took the 72 H2 out for the first time in a couple of seasons, drained carbs last time it was ridden, fired up 4 kicks , idles well and pulls great full throttle but feels like it's not running on all 3 cylinders steady throttle until throttle is past 1/4 turn. Has Lakeland all in one unit, K&N pods and early Wirges chambers. Maybe pilots jets gummed up? TIA |

That would be my first guess. |

Clogged pilots usually effect the idle, but always good to check. |

Did some searching around the forum, pulled plugs, left and center seem ok but a little rich, right cylinder darker and wet, RH pipe smoking more heavily than other 2, checked trans fluid level, went from upper mark to lower mark on a 70 mile relatively hard ride. Think I found the problem? |

Sounds likely. |

What's the problem? A bad seal? |

The dropping of the transmission oil indicates the right crank seal is leaking. It can be changed without splitting the case halves, but it could mean there are more leaking crank seals, so it's probably a good idea to do a leakdown test on all of them. |
