Strange that the list page I posted a link for shows 5 series needles for the TM34, and of course if they're short then suitable as you said, if they go too far at open throttle-

If I'm using the clip on top groove of my needle, I'd like to approach middle groove with whatever combination I pick. It's not terribly rich right now

If you're going to keep the needles you're using now, I think if you go to P-2 needle jets then your needle will move up (richer) a notch or two.

If you're going to change the needles then it might take more experimenting with needle position and needle jet size to get the bike running nicely.

I found this chart on niche cycle's site, eliminated the ones i thought irrelevant.
It has my needle 6F5 listed, so I'm comparing to get something leaner. It looks like i should definitely get a leaner needle jet-lower P, or upper O range. I'm thinking I should get 6DH4, 6DH3 or 6DH2 needles-

My H2 is also lightly ported. I think if you order O-2 needle jets and 6DH2 needles your bike will be rideable. Maybe not perfect but in the ballpark. Those parts will cost around $65 with postage.

Yeah I'm thinking 6DH2 looking at the diameters, maybe P-2, O-2 seems far from my current P-6(?)

Yes there's limited info and others guys needle jets tend to be larger. Soflah recommended O-0 which I thought would be too lean. The O-0 and 6DH3 needle combo is pretty close. Overall, my H2 is running very well. Better than the VM30's.

I bought inlet tubes as recommended by BBP and Jyrg, haven't installed them yet.

I ran TM34's for years and spent considerable time and money getting them jetted properly. When I bought them I was told by the distributor that they flow a lot of fuel. He was correct. I ended up at O-0, 6DH2 in the 4th clip, 42.5 pilots 190 mains no air jet. I like the 6DH3 needle much better but it was too rich in the mid range. Ideally if the made N series needle jets I believe a N-6 and 6DH3 would be the perfect combo. I have since gone to VM38's. Results have been good so far. Here is a picture of the silicone tubes. I bought mine from silicone intakes. They were $16.99 each. 60 degree bends.
