OHH..... I think I have found the problem. I only had two needle jets in my carbs, both were 171, and the other carb had a short shroud needle jet like the H2 had which turned out to be a H1 type. I looked up the needle jet at Jetsrus and found the only 'O' jet listed was an O8, no O6 listed, and 'assumed' that it was a mistype and meant to be a Q6... and bought one of those. Which is much richer, like the 3rd richest one there is. This would be why the RH cylinder would cut out at midrange and it was in fact running on two cylinders, it was pig rich on that cylinder while on the needle. I lowered all three needles and it started to run. I have two other spare carbs but now I look, they have H1 type needle jets in them, the 194 O-2. JetsRus carry a size smaller than the original, a 171 N-8, I might get three of those, I still think I need to be leaner than the stock needle jet allows. Edit: I found the other spare carb I have has a 192 O-4 in it, so no good there either. Aren't these basket case bike projects fun......
