Many things on mraxl, and of course, many more I cannot 'find'. My reliable '77 has run great for years, but suddenly, on a cold start "no spark"....on any cylinder. Main fuse good. Battery charge good. What is the progression/order of "rectifier - CDI - various coils checking" to test logically? (I possess little logic). Even if one can lead me to former posts on such. Gracias in advance.

You can test the CDI unit with this procedure: http://www.kawatriple.com/cditestkh400.htm

You can check the resistance of the low speed stator coil by measuring between the black and white wires coming from the alternator. It should be 210 to 240 ohms. They can be intermittently bad, but if yours acts up when cold it might be easy to catch.

Thanks John; yep, the low-speed coils get old/hot and fail (unless they're Jim's replacements). And thanks Jim; I'll try that troubleshooting note Sunday. ((<was using the other site's password.....due to my Age - I think))
