I have a mityvac with a dial that uses "in.Hg" instead of PSI. I am testing the proper ball bearing popping amount between 4.2 - 4.6 PSI.

At 11 in.Hg that coverts to 5.40 PSI at sea level. http://www.convertunits.com/from/in+Hg/to/psi

My elevation is 5,350. 5.40 PSI is multiplied by .822 (17.8% vacuum loss at my altitude) which equals 4.4 PSI.
http://anver.com/vacuum-lifters/atmospheric-pressure/

So it appears that 11 in.Hg is the target vacuum number to use.
Please correct me if I'm wrong in my conversion.

11 inches of mercury produces 5.4 PSI at any elevation, it's not dependent on air pressure. In general, pressure gauges read the pressure relative to ambient pressure, so if your check valves need to open at 5.4 PSI, that's referring to 5.4 PSI difference between the input and output sides of the valve. The spring inside will maintain that difference at sea level or at your elevation.

So it looks like 9 in.Hg which is equal to 4.42 PSI would be the target number for my lines to pop. Thanks for the quick info.
