Hi There, Can't remove my flywheel from my KH400, tried the rear wheel spindle no good. I have the proper flywheel removal tool still stuck solid worried about stripping the threads. Is a puller last option although theres not much room behind it. Never had this problem before. Bike has been stood for 30 years but is not in rusted condition. Thanks |

I use a large bolt to push it off and yes it is the same thread as The rear axle . Maybe spray a little oil but it will come off. Even a medium strong gun will pop it loose of the taper. |

Use the rear axle or maybe swing arm bolt as a piston to press it off. Thread it in to the hole on rotor and ratchet that puppy off Not a KH400 rotor shown but same principal. I hold the rotor with a canvas strap wrench. |

OK Thanks guys. I actually woke up tonight thinking about this so went out to the garage expecting trouble. Inspected the flywheel tool no signs of thread damage and no sign of flywheel metal on it. Inspected flywheel threads no damage. Screwed in the flywheel tool and kept turning and the flywheel fell off. No damage anywhere just me being a wuss!! I was imagining damage happening by the way it felt. Thanks for your suggestions its appreciated. |
