Looks like I need new rubber pipes (11015-014) for my H1A. The middle is so distorted at the carb inlet and it looks like the whole assembly have shrinked to the extent it's almost impossible to put it back.

How good are the aftermarket ones? There is also some they claim to be NOS on Ebay, but I'm reluctant to buy since at least some looks like aftermarket pipes falsely stated as originals.

I have a reserve assembly, the left pipe is dried out junk but the middle and right looks usable so I'll try to use them first.

Put on the reserve assembly and it was fairly hassle free to fit compared to the other one.

Is there a way to definitely tell originals apart from repros?

Rode the bike 60 miles today, first ride since last summer.

Fun but it sure needs work. No power at lover revs, very hard to shift into second gear at times. Maybe because the clutch drags. Got a false neutral on one takeoff and then it suddenly decided to jump into gear by itself, a bit scary.

The old pipe inlet started to crack even more so definitely need a new one now.

I don't know, pods look kinda neat but aren't those less restrictive and require a complete carburetor re-jet?

The right cylinder runs cooler than the other two. Same cylinder that had bad throttle response and black spark plug when we examined it last summer.

It makes sense that it would be cooler if it's running too rich - also explains the black plug. Try tweaking the air screw on that carb (out a little bit).

Is this the same bike that the center cylinder has a blown base gasket on?

Yes will try to adjust the carb.

This is a different bike, the 1973 H1D that won't run properly on center is at a workshop in another town atm. Hopefully to be fixed.
