The friction plates are worn out on my S2. What are the favorite brands for replacement? There is a few NOS sets on ebay between $50 and $60.

I b'lieve that they are the same as the KX125 in some of the searching I've done. With those little 125 mx'rs reaching close to 40 hp and LOTS of slam-banging gear changes in MX, they should be pretty durable. I'd check the part numbers on the two.
Side note...a million yrs. ago when I was MX'ing, I was wearing out the tops of my Big John MX boots. Because I knew the tracks by heart, I started counting up the shifts I made in a Sunday of racing two classes (the SMART GUYS only raced one class!) and 3-15 minute motos per class, including practice ended up to being about 1,000 shifts a Sunday! That's when I better understood WHY my boot tops were wearing thru. Unless you're going road racing on your S-2, I'd guess 125 plates would be good to go?
Let us know what you choose.

Yup, the S series friction plates are the same part number so If I buy KX125 plates I'll be buying S series plates anyway. I was mostly wondering if some preferred a certain aftermarket brand or not. I'm sure either will work fine.

Hey Bud, I have but the one NOS plate, but you can have it if you want it for postage.
If nothing else, check the list of bikes using these plates.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/13088-025-NOS-K ... 1889056260

I have a stack of cork plates here that came with a bunch of Kaw parts I bought years ago.
I thought maybe Avenger? The bag just said 350.
Might better check it now against the one Kaw plate I guess.

to be continued......

OK, it seems I have about 4 complete sets of larger what look like H1 or H2 Barnett corks.
Then there is a smaller set that match the outer diameter and tooth spacing on the new S2 KH Kaw cork I have.
B U T the inner diameter is about 1/8" smaller, so there is a 1/16th lip shown when laid side by each.

The A series plates I saw when researching, had a sort of lip or tang on the ends,
these look like any stock triple plates I have seen

If I had an H1 or H2 plate to compare these with, I may have a nice stash.
Still in original Barnett bags, albeit a bit worn.

pics later maybe

CMS and Partzilla still have them, so kind of like getting them from Mother Kaw. ;) :D

Cheaper to buy right from Fartzilla than to buy from them at evilbay.
I just checked.

Most work fine if you use good oil, have hefty springs and a NEDs hydraulic pusher helps a lot too.
