Hello, I am having work done on the bottom end of my '74 H1 and it appears I will need to replace the transmission top shift fork #13140-013.

Can anyone tell me if this part is interchangeable with the top shift fork on the H2 #13140-048?

I have heard the are the same and the H2 part seems to be less expensive overall.

Thanks!

Thanks for the bulletin info. That does explain some things. But I am still wondering what is the difference between the H1 and H2 top forks and if they are interchangeable? They appear to be identical... Can a H2 fork be used in a H1 transmission?

Thanks!

:)

I do not have the answer to your question. However, 2 years ago I replaced all of my H1F shift forks with new aftermarket ones. Though expensive, they seem to work very well.

I have interchange them, with no problems. You just have to make sure the wider ones don't interfere with shifting if you get one.
