Quote:
Cylinder runs when start gas is sprayed into carburetor or throttle wire pulled.

That changes things... ignition is ok or it would never fire.
Problem is carb/fuel related or possibly clogged pipe/baffle.
Since you have swapped carbs already I'd remove baffles and check for clogged pipe.
Are you running chambers?...what kind? If Wirges they require special attention.

Stock pipes on this bike. Never decarbonized them maybe I should try that.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it could still be a crank seal. You said they tested good, but we had a KX100 at the shop with a gray spark plug reading and detonation, it tested perfect on a leak down test.

Yes it could still be the crank seal. Maybe I will spend the winter learning to rebuild a triple engine. :)

Start with the easy stuff first and work your way to the tear down if necessary, like Dale said check those baffles.

When was the last time they were removed?

Don't know when they were last removed.

I have decarbonized the pipes on my H1A and now doing the same on the H1B, with petrol based degreaser but it's a bit messy and not as effective as I would like. Would pouring gasoline into the pipes and put it on fire damage the chrome plating?

Just remove the silencer inside pipe perhaps, and restart.

Thanks for all help! The bike is still in the other town as the guy and me did settle down our disagreements (for now at least). I personally inspected the bike and found nothing was tampered with. He says hes going to try another ignition system on it. I will give him reasonable time to do so, then maybe it's time to take the bike back.

I found a gas burner works pretty well for decarbonizing the exhaust pipes but it sure smokes a lot and smells like crap.

Drove the bike to registration inspection today. Is does not idle or run at lower revs, but once they are up it pulls good and at least sounds like it's running on all cylinders. There was heat on the middle cylinder.

But I'm not imagining that it has magically fixed itself but at least I can test ride the bike now since it passed inspection.

Not idling or running well at lower RPM could indicate dirty clogged carburetors. If you can kick start it, the low speed magneto coil is probably OK.
