So you mean you now have good spark on all three cylinders, but it's still not firing on all three? Is the problem still just the middle cylinder?

I have spark with the plugs laying on the cylinder heads. Could cut off the electrode on an old plug and see if it jumps, as suggested earlier in the thread?

Case and point. Replacing with one of Jim's boxes is certainly peace of mind, but not properly diagnosing from the get go causes you to chase your tail and throw away good money. If you had checked for good spark as suggested earlier, you could have saved a lot of time and money. ;)

Yes I should learn to listen more carefully to what other people say.

Tomorrow the a local triple guy will pick the bike up and examine it.

I have got exactly the same problem with my centre cylinder.

So my question : in the end was it leaking seals ?

The H1D isn't sorted out yet, the guy who have it have been too busy.

But my H1A have the exact same symptoms on the right cylinder.

Compression test over rings show slightly less on right.

Removed all cylinders to have a look.

I think I saw some slight leakage on right cylinder head gasket. Did see some very small metal chips in the cylinder.

But all cylinders, pistons and rings looks great. No marks whatsoever.

I don't know but I suspect leaking crank seals on both the H1D and H1A.

I GOT A RESULT :D :D

After trying everything to get my H1d centre cylinder to fire.... I trawled various Triple Fora and found out what my problem was :

a. I am not thrashing the live out of my old girl when I ride and
b. The bike was parked for almost two years.

The crank was over oiled. I undid those funny service 'thingies' at the bottom of the crank case and let the oil drip out. There was not much oil, but enough to make the fuel/air mixture so oily that it could not combust.

That done I put in yet another set of new spark plugs.... and hey presto ...all is working as it should. Took her for a ride throu the village and turned a sunny afternoon into blue smoke. ( Lordy it was smoking badly ) Now it is all blown out and the bike is as it should be.

This may have been posted earlier, but make sure your oil check valves are not leaking. If they are, you'll continue to get oil puddling in the crankcase chambers when it's parked.

Thank you Jim,

I degreased the oil check valves and crank case and put a small amount of Gascaginch between the check valve and crank case. The reason I parked the H1f was , that I could not get any good rubber mounted crankcase fixings for it and I was afraid of cracking the exhaust pipes due to engine vibrations/movement. Got some NOS rubber dampers for some stupid money now. So The H1f will be ridden regularly.

There's some indication that the guy who was supposed to help me with the H1D instead took it, dismantled it and now is trying to sell it in parts.

Maybe it's time to sell all my triples and forget about it. It's just not worth it.

I was referring to the check valves on the oil pump lines, that are bolted to the crankcase with banjo bolts.
