You inspired me to get busy, Tim. All three of the motorcycles I plan to take this year need some work, so I started with the one that was parked closest to the shop and wheeled it in. It's the Ninja 250 that my daughter rides, although I put more miles on it than she does. I put a late model rear shock on, and stiffer front springs, and now it doesn't bottom out on bumps. I just got back from a test ride, and curves feel slower now. That is, the bike seems to handle them with less drama. Roads like the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway will tell the whole story though.

You might try a PBI or another brand next time and see if it lasts longer. The last aluminum one I had on the H2 went at least 25,000 miles, and when I took it off to change the ratio it still had very little wear. I don't know who made that one, it was in a kit that I bought in the late '70s. |

I would be open to another brand if it didnt have to be custom made. I don't care for a 520 chain on an H2, been there and done that. The EX 500s didnt come with a 530 so last time I had to have Sprocket Specialists make me one. I also need a 44 tooth which is non- standard. |
