For my H1 resto http://www.kawi2strokes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11615 I wanna use the original petcock - at least for the moment Have any of you guys an idea of how much it can deliver ? ml or fluid oz/per minute. Any specs ? I keep thinking of the following scenario: Riding for longer periods in 5. gear at let's say 5-6.000 revs/minute, which with my 16/45 drive ratio probably equals 120-130 km/hour = normal speed at some highways, even here in Denmark. If petcock does'nt deliver enough, engine will starve a little. Burned pistons might be the ultimate consequence. Not worried about short accelerations bursts up to let's say 7.5-8.000 rev/min, as the "buffer" in the carb bowls will secure adequate fuel supply for the few seconds it lasts (my assumption) Please stop me if I go astray, but I seriously consider to make a test, including the rubber pipes and the 3 small filters I have incorporated. If I achive, let's say 300 ml /minute performance from standard petcock this can be measured against how much fuel a 500 ccm running at 5-6.000 revs/minutes uses. Overkill ? Am I too cautious ? Will my results differ depending on whether I connect the the vacuum pipe or not ? |

Think about how large the fuel valve orifice is compared to the petcock.... I don't think you have anything to worry about. |

I'm actually using just 1 of the 3 feeds, opened to 1/4" line to run my 38's. |

Thanks guys. And I guess that if Ja-Moo uses only 1 of the 3 feeds, to run 3 VM38's, I do't need to worry, as I'm going to use all 3 feeds Goodnight |

For my Bonneville H1 I had to go with the largest float valve and a 3/8ths outlet Pingle or my bowls would run out of gas by the 2 mile mark. |

Did you try a stock petcock with the big float valves, Jim? |

...is it relevant that the area of the petcock outlet is a whole lot more than the area of the 3 main jets? (I take mraxl's point about the float valves.) |

If you actually want to do a test for piece of mind, You can take a main jet and see how much it flows in 30 seconds, and then your pilot. Then let one petcock line run through the fuel valve (bowl off basically) into a measuring jar and then just subtract the jet flows. |
