Do I still need to use them when running denco type adapters and rubber carb mounting flanges?

nope, the rubber manifolds act as the insulator.....

I will ad that on these joints, either metal to metal, with and without gasket/insulator, rubber to metal, I always seal them with either Yama-Bond 4, Three-Bond 1194, same sealers.

ive got threebond 1211 which will do I suppose. I do plan on putting a gasket between jug and ali adaptor which will act as a insulator to some extent as well as rubber flange. I did plan on sealant. don't want leaks in there.
Thanks for reply's.

1211 does work well. 1194 is a touch better in that it is designed to seal through anything when applied correctly. 1211, if I remember, is a silicone base, good for other situations. For rubber to metal, I don't use a gasket, the 1194 becomes the gasket.

For decades, whenever I would do a tune & service on anything with bolt on carb holders, 2 and 4 stroke, I'd always pull the carbs off, set the floats, seal the carb holders with first, 1104, now 1194. I used to do the same on brand new bikes as well. I really haven't found a new bike carb that had the correct float level setting, except for new F6/F7 singles.

If anyone also works on cars, most of the aftermarket intake manifold gaskets come with a bead of seale all the way around each inlet port hole, usually blue in color. That sealer IS actually 1194, with a blue coloring dye. Some few of those sealer beads are 1194 gray.

Either sealer works great when properly applied.
