Uhm okay, but why?

By the way, the throttle wires have small caps on them but they don't go through the hole in the new carburetor cap rubbers. Are those caps good for anything?

Different cable lengths, are just a cosmetic thing so they "look" good. Short middle one is so it's not all would up looking as it is just the shortest distance.

Not sure about the rubber caps, can you put up a picture? :eh:

I don't know, but using the shortest throttle wire for the right carb won't work. The wire is too short.

But the biggest issue is I can't get the carburetors back on the inlets. Tried with not much force but when a chip of the brown sealing in one carb came off (backelite?) I gave up. Maybe all carb cleaning chemicals ruined the sealings.

They are a super tight fit, you must get them started direct straight, with no angle, and twist as you slide them on. If you chipped one, then you were at some sort of angle and pushing too hard.

No, the sealing surface is actually way in the back where the end of the manifold is.

Internal cables are the same length, so if it's shorter, then that would be a good place to look.
