O.K. Guys , my newest set of Kawasaki H2 brake lines have a 4/74 date code on them  . so I'm in the market for some custom length steel brake hoses. What brand and type - screw on fittings / swaged ends etc. are people using. Anyone have a successful outcome with custom braided steel lines, or any DMV/ ADR (Aussie) compliance issues, etc. I need a 7" M/C to splitter hose, and 2 17" hoses to the calipers. Thanks if you can help!!

I bought mine from Reproduction Decals...
Screw on ends so you buy exactly what you need and not custom.

In Victoria they need an approval mark and a cover over the braid for a RWC I think its to do with ADR's. Stupid I know, I've had bare braided ones for over 15 years and quite a few police stops, RBT's etc without drama, but strictly speaking they aren't legal.

As Walms describes (ignore the Hardley reference thing at the site):

http://www.russellperformance.com/index_moto.shtml

They have a DOT label on their street lines...

J

PS. Don't forget to add the length of the fittings when calculating the correct length of line to order.

Well he did ask specifically about ADR/ DMV issues  And here, in the State next door he would have them, at an MOT (RWC) or registration stage. My guess would be South Australia would have the same attitude, as I have been told by our DMV that its an ADR issue.

I wasn't making lite of his post, sorry if you took it tha. Way...
I guess we have it pretty good in Ontario, you just need to get a bike through safety when it changes ownership.
This is why it's best to keep things stock until after it's in your name then go crazy afterwards. ;)
