Over the winter I plan on getting new pipes, paint and seat upholstery. Then it will be almost entirely finished.

While the paint is presentable as is, it is not my cup of tea. I want to go with the blue color for this model year. Who knows? I may just get used to it and leave it alone. :D

Glad to see you're getting her together. The carbs can be tricky. I seem to find the hole in the pilot circuit facing the intake seems to clog up the easiest.

I rode it today. It did better but the pilot circuit is still not quite right. That's OK. I can remove the carbs in my sleep now. :D There is some tiny lump of dirt hiding out in there and I will find it. All three are affected but the RH cylinder is the worst.

Here is what my S3 looked like right before I took it off the build stand. Since then I added gas cap, mirrors, and chain guard. Maybe a couple of other little things - I forgot.

Wow that paint is close to mine. Park em side by side it would be hard go tell em apart. ;) nice job on that one! She'll be a treat when you get her right.

If ya blow in the back air screw port you should feel air coming out both circuits with the screw wound out. I found a blockage on a second hand carb was between the main and pilot and took a while to find. If ya haven't already might wanna knock the needle jet out and run some gum cutter through there.

Don't think I hadn't noticed that, Richard. If I remember right, your pattern was a little less linear. I would not hesitate to do a similar paint scheme on my next repaint. But side-by-side I think I'd notice rotortech's lack of an air scoop.

Gm Rotortech, I'm a little late on this thread,I was just wondering if you have a good strong battery in your bike ? The smaller triples don't run good with a weak battery. My bike is a kh 250 with a 350 topend with 400 carbs and chambers. If i don't have a good fully charged battery the low end on my bike is awful.Just a thought.

Harry - good call. When I checked the battery it was below 12 volts. I charged it up and it holds full charge for 24 hours. Not the battery.

Then I started trouble shooting the charging system. I found one terminal that backed out of the connector between the Rectifier and the Regulator. It is a new connector that I installed. The tang on the terminal was not latching inside the connector body. I fixed that and started the bike. Voltage across the battery was fluctuating wildly. The voltmeter could never settle down. I can't believe the ignition worked at all. I got my meter out and checked the stator = OK. The Rectifier is bad and the Regulator appears to be good.

I will put my rectifier question on another thread.

I upgraded the rectifier to a solid state VRR and cured the charging problem. VRR upgrade here: http://www.kawi2strokes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3744 I ran the bike down the street and it still runs like crapola.

Back to the carbs? It's too hot. I'll have a couple of beers and give it some thought. I might try a new set of plugs first since the ones in the engine have been through some poor conditions before today. I guess I will start over from scratch and double check every setting on the carbs - enrichment, synch, cable slack, all that stuff just to make sure I didn't botch it.

Rotortechs looks to be run more in a straight line pattern. Mines a little more mixed up. Paint still looks good though. If these two were side by side and I came up on the right side, Rotortech might see find me mounting his bike wondering why my key don't work. The H2B is going to be the same type of paint job only in copper. ;)

Keep up the good work Rotortech!
