Oh boy

I just read it's not numbers matching, purchasing a set of good cases would be much easier.

Just for the sake of argument, let's say it's numbers matching and you need to get them welded. You would need copper plugs made to the exact diameter of all bores in the vicinity of that bore. Both case halves would need to be bolted together and heat absorbing putty put around the area to help reduce warping. Then you would need a really good welder to TIG it.

Then if you were really lucky, it would still be OK to use without additional machining.

10-4........don't care about matching numbers.......somebody must have blown up the original engine anyway.........I understand what you are saying........heat and warping issues........I don't like the galled crank bosses either.........another set of cases is what I will do then.........on the hunt for a set now

Jeff.....Thanks for your Input........this guy does some good work :!:

BBP, you're not alone with crank case cracks. Just split the case on an H1 and found similar cracks. Makes me wonder if this is a common problem that is just overlooked or not normally noticed.

The thought just occurred to me that these are 40 odd year old components, that have been used and abused, so it's always a good idea to check things carefully - no one is going to reproduce triple cases!!

Myock13........Man, I feel your pain brother........I suppose thats what happens when people dump the clutch an do a big burnout or do a little speed shifting and miss a gear.........I've gotten on my bike a few times, but I always just roll it on when its in gear, let off, clutch and shift........after seeing 4 of the 6 crank bearings shot, one of the rods (left) wasted, left seal leaking air, release seal split in half, the shift arm lever nut loose, the clutch dimple washer has 2/3 of the dimples flattened out, and a few other fun things, lucky I didnt blow it up :!:

JP and Rod.......I have been salivating over those billet cases for a while now......with the newer KAW 6 speed trans and clutch.......I think it is Neville Lush's site (I beleive) that has a description and engineering details.......then machined in Belguim or somewhere....(In JP's backyard)........wonder what they cost and if available ?........probably 10K :o

Rod.......I have a set of shift forks being made (thru HVCcycle) in Aussieland.....do you know who is making them ?.......they are supposed to get 5 sets in a month or so

The billet engine is made by Leo (who is on this forum) and Ralf Schippman (who is perhaps on this forum under aka Billetengine). Both are crazy guys and crazy triple nuts. Not sure about the price but it'sn't cheap.
Am this year on big carbs and expansion chambers (Denco RR) on my H2A but will order one on 2016 I think :shh:
