thanks, I'll take some pic's in the next couple of days. I need to figure out how to attach photo's to my site. By the way.........the shop that did some work for me, or should I say: screwed me out of some money and shotty work, was Johnny's Vintage cycles in Wadsworth, Oh. Not a good experience with them. Charged me a lot of money, said it was fixed, gave it back to me not fixed......found on my own that the idleing up was caused by the new (cheap) intake & base gaskets sucking air among other things they were asked to look over and didn't repair. Yeah....I usually don't give in to shops, unless I'm about on "tilt", because I can't figure it out.....which this had me there for a couple months (dumbfounded), but they forced me to tackle it again till I found the problems. What sucks is, I finally got it running good for a few weeks till this.

that sux Terry... I feel your pain. Went through something similar when I first got into these bikes. Thankfully, the individual that defrauded (lack of better word) me is no longer affiliated with Kaw triples to the best of my knowledge.

looking back, Im glad it all happened as it forced me to really dig in and LEARN. Education is never cheap.

I had no idea johnny's vintage also did "service.

The ignition taper is definitely one of the weak spots. The factory H2-R cranks had a much thicker taper and so did the KR 750 crank. Strange that Kawasaki never updated this, it would have been easy to do- only three new LH flywheels, for S series, H1 and H2- for the H2 they could easily have used the H2-R part; plus new rotors with larger internal tapers. It's not that they didn't do any more complex updates over the years, including updates that made little if no sense at all such as the KH500 shift mechanism.
