While I am restoring my S3 I have bought a few odds and ends from several sellers on eBay. One guy really stands out. He had a shift pedal with linkage for an S3. I sent him a message and asked if he would sell just the linkage (without the pedal) for $29. He wrote back and told me that he didn't want to split that assembly up but he thought he had another one in the shop. Then he sent me a message that said he would list the linkage tomorrow on eBay. Sure enough, he listed what I wanted for $29 Buy-It-Now.
Then, when I couldn't find something that I was looking for on eBay, I sent him a message. He said he would look for it in his shop. The next day he sends me another message to let me know that he is listing it on eBay tomorrow. So I go there and buy it, of course.
So far, I think this guy is pretty good to deal with. Then I began to work with that shift linkage I bought from him. The clamp bolt on the lever part does not look right at all. I found out that it was not even a metric fastener. There were no actual threads in the hole. The bolt was just jammed in there by some idiot. I sent Brian a message. He was concerned and sent me his cell phone number. We talked. He felt bad and didn't know that the bolt was bogus. He said he had another lever in the shop and he would send it to me. I already had a request to him for a right hand side foot peg bolt with good chrome still on it. He sent me a message that said "Kevin, per our conversation today I will get the replacement part sent out to you Thursday. I also had a pretty decent right foot peg bolt and will be sending it also, no charge. Thanks for your business."
This guy is named Brian Greenwell and his eBay ID is 303vintage01. I believe he has a lot of triple parts. I know that he has several S3s that he is parting out. If you are looking for something and can not find it listed, contact him via eBay and ask for it. He is very familiar with the bikes and all the parts on them.
Tell him Kevin sent you.
