To clear or not? If yes clear powder coat or paint? I know originally was cleared just wondering what pros and cons are to both.
TIA

I wouldn't powder coat it. It looks "thick"and it is quite susceptible to brake fluid and such like..

I polished the legs on my H2 and did not clear. I figured I would just give a quick polish when they needed it, that was two months ago and I haven't had to re-polish yet but when I do it should be very simple and easy.

Wasn't planning on polishing, more a natural finish, following procedure in resource page, by Kelly Wright. Leaning toward no clear.

I guess I should have used a different word than polish. This is how I did mine.

Excellent, that's what I'm after, need to pick up the grey finishing pads tomorrow and that should finish them.
Thanks

A coat of wax does wonders.......

I just used 400, then 600, and then 0000 steel wool. I went around and round with the abrasives and not the long way on the leg. When I did it the long way the first time it didn't look right so I did it over. It's very simple and like the moo said "a coat of wax works wonders".

Here is my H1 lowers after bead blasting:

I used one of these, from Harbor Freight:

Then some Scotchbrite, to get this!

It's just the finish I was looking for, close enough to factory but not polished.
