Does anyone have a trick for getting a new side stand rubber over the ball at the end of the stem? It is a 1974 H1 and I have a reproduction p/n 92075-031 but no luck getting it on. The hole in it seems too small to work but somehow it must go on. Thanks, Bill |

You tried a squirt of WD40, or silicone spray, start with a plastic-hammer, then twist on, etc.? |

I covered it in some Mequiars rubber protectant that makes it pretty slippery for a few minutes. I also used a set of spreading c-clip pliers to try and stretch the thing out some. I can't get enough force on that rubber bit to get it started. It is pretty stiff rubber, I'm wondering if maybe oem rubber might not be as hard/stiff as this repro piece? When I hit it with a hammer, the times I miss my fingers, the bit shoots across the garage.... |

No problem with shift or kick start rubber, just the side stand. Boiling water it is then. I guess that might make the rubber more flexible/forgiving for a bit then. Thank You. |

yeah, heats your friend there for sure. a lot of repro items I have seen like those are way harder than the originals were. I bought a set of rear hub dampner rubbers from Greg Claus but the rubber is way harder than OEM ones were. Not that they wont work and maybe they will even last longer? Just sayin . . . . |

Ran into the same thing with the KH, I think the repro is too small but if you slice it with a razor blade it goes right on
