So I tinker with the old bikes as a hobby, mainly SOHC CB750's. I recently went to look at 2 CB750's, they were in much worse shape than the owner described. Not all was lost on the trip though, he had a Kaw triple sitting out back that he said he would sell if I was interested. Long story short, I bought it (no title) and to my garage it went. I come here to learn more about it and hopefully restore it.

From what I could find, I believe it is a 1969 model, very early production. The frame number is around 00416 and motor 00433. I have the pipes, seat, side covers, rear finder and tail light for it as well.

1st, welcome to the world of Triples (fyi: it is sometimes helpful if some indication of your location is added to your profile - ride meet-ups or assistance, etc.)! Secondly, as you may already be aware, the 69 is the one that started it all in Tripledom, so what better model to begin your journey into the world of Triples! Finally, your example may well have been built on or within the day mine was built - KAF-00466...

I couldn't tell you the last time it ran, it's not as long ago as many projects that I buy. Those tires though have plenty of life left on them and don't seem to be all that old, which makes me think someone rode it in the last few years.

Like any first year model I have read that there are some more rare parts on this model. What specifically should I be looking for to identify those? I have read that the carbs, cylinders, and shocks are all hard to find items. Is there a way to identify those items, and verify that this one still has them and hasn't been pillaged of parts?

Carbs should be windowed http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/carb/windowedH1.jpg
Cylinders should be bridgeport http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/cylinders/ ... geport.jpg
Shocks http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/shocks/hshocks.jpg

Carbs are correct, shocks are correct, the only thing I'm still not sure how to identify are the cylinders.

At the intake, with carbs removed, if there is a divider in the middle of the port it is "bridged". The divider is not present in later models.
