Hi guys. I am new to this form communication process. My new buddy Mike suggested this source to help me through the restoration of a 1970 red H1. This bike belongs to my high school best friend. We both purchased one in our junior year. He rode his until his death in 84. The bike, unbeknownst to me until this past April sat for 30 years in a horse barn. I am excited to do this in memory of an old friend. I am a novice with skills and am looking forward to your counsel.

Welcome aboard! I can give you one helpful hint, don't always jump on the first part you find because a lot of times right after you do you will find a vendor that has the same thing for a lot less. If you want the bike to be #1 be prepared to spend some serious cash. This is a very helpful place.

Mike! Your first post! Welcome to their board. You're on the correct path for assistance with your restoration.

I've been to Mike's home to meet him and have seen his 70 along with photos of him and his triple back in the day. (When his hair had some color!) Well it still has color, it just changed to white.
Super nice gent and several hours of chatting and parts handling passed by in a blink. Mike is new to forums and posting photos, but I'm happy to assist him as he moves forward with his project.
He's looking at a pretty extensive restoration in memory of his old friend. Mike is very organized. Unfamiliar parts are labeled and bagged. He's created lists of parts he'll need to replace or have serviced.
Boxes of parts are ready for paint, polishing, plating.......he's got that part figured out. I told him this was the place for questions, insight, resources and vendors. I'm sure several members will be hearing from him shortly.

Mike, read all you can in here when time permits, starting with the Resource Site, in particular, "The end all, be all triple information.....".
Here's a link. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=5 You're on your way Mike and these guys are always here to help.

Here are two photos I wanted to post for Mike until I dial him in.
The first is him on his 70. He was 18. The second, 43 years later, recovering his late friends H1.
