Kawbulman LOL...Thats my Sprint car\Nascar setup for going around in circles......We are Hillbillys in this region ! Actually the first picture is newer with the progressive 412 shocks and the VM34 carbs with UFO's The second is the original when I got the bike this July, stock shocks and carbs. And now the frame is at the powder coaters and will be back in black, the rest of it is in a bunch of zip lock bags in the basement. Good Catch THX Phil |

It takes special rubber mounts to fit the 75 tank on a 74 frame. The 75 frame has the rubber biscuts mounted out wider than the 74. If you have the stock little rubber pucks something else is going on. It looks like a KZ tank to me. |

H-Nube Thanks for the info, I have two rubber dampers in the front, they look look like standard maybe 3/4' round rubber grommets, have the two that rap around the frame towards the back, its hard to tell what the tank it is...looks good on the bike in person....I want to order decals from reproduction graphics......hope its a 75 tank, anybody got any ideas let me know. RB In my first post, the serial number of my frame is F38XXX, I have a 74 frame and it does not have an extra set of tangs or hooks at the back of the tank (just 2), I also noticed that the paint on the tank seems to have been rubbed by the seat a bit, even though it does not look like the seat is bunched up or goofey looking. I think they may have wrecked it at some point and put a 75 tank on it. Also, it does not have a factory tank strap, they used a thin bungy type cord.......the frame is at the powder coaters now, but it seems the tank may be longer than where the hooks are. I am assuming it is a 75 tank, I just ordered 75 purple graphics from reproduction decals today.....I know it won't be period correct, but I am doing many mods to it anyway. You have a really neat museum over across the pond.....Awesome !!! THX Phil |

They probably swapped out the seat also with a 75 .. Hopefully your fork ears survived and can be rechromed... I used to prefer the h2c over the h2b But over time ive come to prefer the h2b.. could be in part that green is one of my favorite kawi colors..As for the seat rubbing.. thats the norm once its been sat upon..If it were my bike.. I'd toss those chambers and go with something a little more aesthetic to the eye.. But again thats one's preference!! ![]() |

Kawbulman You might be right on the 75 seat as well, it all fits proper as it should, personally I like the look of the 75 tank anyways and I'm gonna go with the Candy Purple. The guy on facebook up in MN sells the paint and we spoke for a while, gave me the info needed on clear, primer, reducer, etc. , PPG $159 a pint (he does the nice looking sets you see on the web). I went to the PPG store here in Dayton and took them the mix from the "Resource page", they knew what everything was except for the last two parts, was not OK with that. Interesting you bring up the fork ears as they are painted, I have them at my buddys shop and they are slightly bent up, I could see chrome where the turn signals mount, but we put some stripper on the rest, they must have sand blasted them. Going to straighten them and paint satin black for now. I could get a set from reproduction decals with reflectors for $95. Anyways, I have only had the bike since July and it is a work in progress, my 2nd H2B as I had a really trick one back in 70's-80's......I just ordered all new rubber parts, getting new Excell rims and fat BT45V tires, all new wheel, swingarm, fork bearings, everything except the motor is apart, costing a small fortune, doing the Bike this winter, the motor (and with some mods, new pipes) next winter. I thought about the Candy Lime Green, It looks good for sure but the decals won't match the tank. THX for the input....Phil |

RB, surely there's also the small matter that the H2-C has the steering damper mounted on the other side of the frame??? |
