With tall shocks and John's shock extenders my H2 needs a longer kickstand.
Are all the S series kickstands the same? (as I recall, these are longer than stock, although I still may need to weld on an extension
Are they supposed to have a slight bend?
Seems like many on ebay look curved although it could just be the angle of the photo.
I'd rather start with the correct bend and lengthen.
Anybody have an extra for sale?
TIA

I don't mean to interrupt, Jim, but with longer shocks, bigger tires, etc., on my H2, I found that an S sidestand was not enough longer to help much. I cut my stand above the foot, below the spring mount, and welded in a couple inches of steel rod. Just another option in case you need it.

I believe that all triple sidestands are meant to be straight.

I've had the same experience as Jim and had to have a piece grafted in on my stand which was an S3 model. This is with Hagons. So you'll need two stands to make one of proper length. I think one could also do this with a stock H2 stand and additional donor stand. Additionally, you will also need to reposition the foot so that the elongated stand sits squarely when at rest. This may need a torch's touch. I could not get the foot hot enough with a propane and MAPP tourch I had so had to see the welder for the real hot stuff!

Evens, I just used a piece of hot rolled steel bar to extend mine. I think it was 9/16" diameter. I made big vees by chamfering all the parts, and then filled with the weld.

Boys, boys, boys
I've got a TIG welder and an oxy/acetylene rig.
I don't want to cut up the original H2 stand and have no problem sacrificing an S series stand
(and here comes the hate mail :shh: )

Anybody know about the S series stands?

Yes Jim, as we implied, they're longer, but possibly not long enough, depending on just how much you jacked up your H2. Try an S series stand, and if it's too short, do what I said above.

I just measured an S2 and an S3 stand, and they're both about 10-1/2" from the center of the pivot bolt to the tip of the foot, so yes, the same.

The stand on the Phoenix was lengthened by cutting off the foot and grafting in a section from a car lug wrench.

Thanks boys; is an S3 stand dead straight when new or curved?
