Next phase, stripping 40 year old paint, did everything but fuel tank and oil tank with glass beads, not too bad.Want to use paint stripper on fuel/oil tank, using Kleen strip, not working well on white base,is there another more potent brand?
Thanks
Mike

The aircraft stripper at most auto parts store work well. The thing is you need to seal the goop in, as the solvent evaporated quickly. Coat thick and wrap with aluminum foil or the like, in crap tupperware.......

Just done my tank and side panels with Aircraft paint stripper. Best thing to do is make sure you have a thick coat on it. If you don't put enough on it is not effective. With a thick coat on it will take all paint off within 15 minutes, no foil needed. I did it outside due to the odor which is not very good for you. Cleaned up afterwards with a few cans of brake cleaning solvent which is cheap and plentiful. Job done!

Right. The main ingredient is methylene chloride, which I can tell you from personal experience is very bad for you. Don't breath it and don't get it on your skin because it gets absorbed directly into your system that way.
